Freedom of expression.

Hello. I was born Angy Amanda Mbonambi on the 14 April 1992 at a place known as Ulundi. I grew up in Newlands West as well as KwaMashu. I never thought I would ever see myself being a university student. The reason is I lost both my parents at a young age, my father died in a comma while I was two years of age and my mother passed due to TB when I was only ten, so I never really got to enjoy the tender nurturing hands of a parent. Currently I stay with my maternal grandmother at Kwamashu, a place that has been labelled as the most dangerous area in KwaZulu Natal, surprisingly I enjoy living there and I'm surviving. I have lived my life travelling from relative to relative because as time goes on my siblings (Andy and Ayanda-two older brothers) and I become too much of a responsibility, so I told myself at an early state that no one can afford to pay for my varsity fees, so this is a place that I must not set my hopes on. Most children grow up wanting to become famous and I was among those kids. I got taken by the applause of my family every time I sang and so I thought that it shall be my destiny but faith proved me wrong and has brought me here to do a degree in Management and Communication, majoring in management as well as media.

My main source of information is everything. I read all which is available to me from magazines to billboards. I always update myself with all which is happening around me because you can not live in a house and not know what is happening in it. I'm not a big fan of the news though I tend to watch it once in awhile if something major is currently happening but other than that I tend to find that they show irrelevant information just to pass on time. I listen to the radio often and the radio news at all times simply because they get straight to the and always broadcast the important information.

There is no need for the media to be restricted because they are our main source of information, they a way of us being linked to each other and knowing that what is happening in our country is happening to another country too. Yes there are times when they invade into peoples privacy but most times it information or news that we need to hear. the government has not not stated a proper reason as to why they wish to put up this new bill and any way if they have nothing unlawful to hide than they should not be afraid of the media.
